I think she officially lost 2 stars when she said “for some women, Afro textured is not for them” ummmmmmmmm, it is growing out of your head, can’t get much “for you” than that. Who says afro-textured hair can’t grow long? I hope to have them both out by Feb I need ideas for hair styles!
I came to this understanding by “listening” to my hair from examining it and touching it and seeing a piece of it drop down my back every time I would get it cut. Once a week is an arbitrary or baseline starting point.

She has two sections on weathering as if she forgot she already had one and her entire chapter on moisturizing had only two sections about moisturizing. I learned alot about afro-textured hair and will absolutely consider those learnings in how I care for my hair going forward.

This book is an easy read I read in half a daybut the nuggets in this book will be something you find yourself referring to often. I cjicoro the book from Amazon and have no regrets.

When I first decided chlcoro stop chemically processing my hair, Chicoro’s Grow It book, was the first book I purchased to learn more about the textured hair phenomenon. The photograph that adorns the front cover of the book is proof enough that Chicoro knows not only how to grow afro textured dhicoro, but to maintain it well enough so that it is visibly healthy and has a natural lustre — not a superficial shine achieved through a quick spurt of oil sheen.
This is an important part of the book because it provides the logic behind the Grow It process of maintaining afro textured hair and provides the rationale for why Chicoro makes particular recommendations that one may be completely unfamiliar with.
I would also say that we don’t have the “Genetics and Genes Play Book” printed out to use as a reference, either. Trim or cut when hair is split or broken. The End of an Era What five things should the newly natural avoid if they want to grow longer hair? Put down the scissors.
